Bargarh: Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC have been imposed in some areas of Odisha’s Bargarh district as a precautionary measure to maintain peace during and after counting of votes for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on Tuesday.

Official sources said that the authorities concerned have ordered imposition of restrictions under Section 144 in Bargarh sub-division and areas under Padampur and Bijepur Assembly constituencies in the western Odisha district.

In Bargarh, sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Kumar Nagabhushan said that there would be restriction on unlawful assemblies and prohibition of holding of public meetings during the day of counting on Tuesday.
