Bhubaneswar: To learn strategies to woo over seven lakh first-time voters in the upcoming elections in Odisha, leaders of the student wing of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) met party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday.
Leaders of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) met the party supremo at Naveen Niwas. 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman V K Pandian and BJD organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das were present at the meeting.
Apart from BCJD president Devi Ranjan Tripathy, other office bearers of the students’ wing interacted with Naveen and others. The student leaders were given important tips by the party chief on how to woo the people, particularly the first-time voters.
They were told about the significance of social media in reaching out to the people. sources said.
The discussion with Naveen came a day after BCJD held a meeting of its at Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. They informed the party president about the deliberations made during their meeting held on Sunday.
They were trained on how to attract young voters, check propaganda against the party on social media platforms, highlight the Naveen Patnaik government’s achievements before voters and discharge their responsibilities.
