Odisha Elections: Headmaster, Another Poll Official Die In Road Mishaps While Returning After Duty

Malkangiri: A school headmaster and another government employees died in separate road accidents while returning after election duty in Odisha’s Malkangiri and Nuapada districts.

In Malkangiri, headmaster of a school at Bandhaguda under Khairput Mudulipada panchayat Indrajit Kirsani was deployed as the presiding officer at Sikhapali Kushabeda school in the first phase of polling held on Monday.

As per preliminary information, Indrajit was returning after completing all poll-related work on Tuesday morning his motorcycle was involved in a mishap with a bus. He was stated to have died on the spot following the collision.

In a similar incident in Nuapada, another government employee died in a road mishap near Tarboda area while returning home in the morning after poll duty.

The deceased, identified as Prasanna Kumar Nayak, was engaged at the presiding officer of a polling station at Ranimunda. He died after being hit by a car.
