Bhubaneswar: Ashok Kumar Basa, well-known engineer from Odisha, has been elected as Executive Vice-President of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO).
Basa is the first Odia and second Indian to be elected to the post, bagging the highest votes in a triangular contest.
The Institution of Engineers felicitated him at a programme here on Wednesday.
Founded in 1968 under UNESCO, WFEO represents more than 30 million engineers from some 100 nations.
