Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths intercepted former GM of Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation Ltd (TDCCOL), G Udaygiri, Rohit Kumar Parida, and seized Rs 5.54 lakh ill-gotten cash from him while he was boarding a bus for Bhubaneswar at Chandragiri late on Sunday.
He is currently working on post retirement re-engagement (contractual) basis, a Vigilance release said, adding that he could not account for the cash satisfactorily.
Following the interception, simultaneous searches are being carried out at 3 locations, including a plot at Gangotrinagar, Lingipur, in Bhubaneswar, linked to Parida to ascertain whether he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The source of the cash seized is also being examined, it added.
