Cuttack: In the ongoing crackdown on manufacturers of adulterated food, the Commissionerate Police busted yet another spurious ghee making unit in Cuttack on Saturday.
According to sources, police raided the unit at Sector-9 of CDA following a tip-off and seized huge quantity of fake ghee, manufacturing and packing machines, chemical and colour essence, and packaging material bearing logos of various brands.
Police have detained the owner of the fake manufacturing unit for interrogation.
Sources said samples of the seized ghee were sent for tests. Police are trying to ascertain for how how long was the owner was involved in supplying spurious ghee.
Notably, police have arrested nealy 25 persons and sealed more than 25 fake companies in the past few days. Police have also cancelled the license of several businessmen involved in the racket in Jagatpur area recently.
