Cuttack: A family court in Cuttack has posted the much-hyped marital discord case involving Odia actors Anubhav Mohanty and Varsha Priyadarshini for hearing on Thursday.
When the matter came up before the judge of the family court recently, the actor-turned-Kendrapada MP and his actress wife Varsha were absent during hearing.
Varsha through her counsel prayed for more time for responding to a petition filed earlier by Anubhav saying a copy of the same had not yet been served. Two petitions were filed on her behalf praying for time without service of copy.
On the other hand, counsel for the actor-turned-politician filed a memo seeking expeditious disposal of the case. The court disposed of the memo the same had earlier been answered.
The court put up the matter for September 8 for objection on the petition filed by the opposite party and for argument in the main case relating to marital discord.
Earlier on August 25, the court had closed evidence for the side of the respondent and posted the matter on September 2 for argument.
It may be noted that Anubhav Mohanty had filed the divorce petition before the Family Court at Patiala House in New Delhi in 2020. The same was transferred to the Family Court at Cuttack in March 2021 by the Supreme Court.
