Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC kicked off their campaign in the Regional Qualifiers (East) of Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) on a winning note on Saturday.
The Odisha FC boys showed great resolve and spirit as they bounced back from a one-goal deficit to overcome Jamshedpur FC 2-1 in Kolkata.
After Mama gave Jamshedpur the lead in the 29th minute, Dheeraj Dutta levelled scores 8 minutes later.
Changing ends with the teams tied 1-1, Roshan Panna scored the crucial goal in the 51st minute. It turned out to be the matchwinner.
The other teams Odisha FC will have to face in the regional qualifiers (East) are East Bengal FC, Mohammedan SC, United SC, Mohun Bagan SG, Adamas United and Kalighat MS.
The RDFL 2023-24 season, which commenced last month, is structured into four phases — Regional Qualifiers, National Group Stages, National Championship and Next Gen Tournament.
