Bhubaneswar: Praising the efforts of the Odisha government to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), 62 temples in the state have decided to donate Rs 1.37 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) through the Endowment Commissioner.
Among the 62 temples, Tarini Temple at Ghatagan in Keonjhar district, Majhighariani Temple in Rayagada district and Sakhi Gopinath Temple at Satyabadi in Puri district will donate Rs 20 lakh each while Mangala Temple at Kakatpur in Puri district and Gorakhnath Temple in Jagatsinghpur district will donate Rs 10 lakh each.
Besides, the Khirachora Gopinath Temple at Remuna in Balasore district will donate Rs 5 lakh.
The Endowment Commissioner has permitted the trustees and executive members of the concerned temples to donate money to CMRF.
