Bhubaneswar: Though the Odisha government on Monday announced some relaxations in COVID-19 lockdown norms, these will not be applicable for Bhubaneswar.
While emergency services and essential commodities were exempted from the restrictions in the first phase, the government has allowed further relaxations for the agriculture and allied sectors in the second phase.
“Bhubaneswar has the maximum number of COVID-19 patients. Besides, there is no agricultural activity in the capital city. Taking these into consideration, the government has decided that there will be no relaxation in the lockdown rules in the city,” said Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Jena.
He further said that the government is thinking about a separate set of rules for Bhubaneswar, which is slowly turning into a potential COVID-19 hotspot.
