Bhubaneswar: Allaying apprehensions over the shortage of essential consumables during the lockdown in Odisha, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain on Thursday said people need not panic as the state has ample stock of food.
He urged the traders to show humanity towards the people by providing them with the essential grocery items at the market price. He also asked them to refrain from black marketing of these items, which will attract punishment.
The minister said that those who do not have a ration card should apply in their block to get PDS items.
The minister advised the people to strictly follow the social distancing guidelines and work unitedly to fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
