Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced a special package of Rs 100 crore for labour-oriented work to sustain the livelihood of the urban poor who have been severely affected due to the COVID-19 lockdown,
As per the announcement, the labour-oriented work under the Urban Wage Employment Initiative will begin in 114 urban local bodies (ULBs) from April to September in association with Mission Shakti Department.
The wage of each beneficiary will be credited to his/her bank account every week.
The programme will be implemented in accordance with the social distancing guidelines.
