Odisha Fights COVID-19: Govt To Rope In AYUSH Doctors, Train PG/UG Students

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to rope in 1620 AYUSH personnel, including doctors, PG and UG students for combating COVID-19 and its management. They will be given necessary training.

In a letter, Health Secretary Nikunj B Dhal said that the District Ayurveda Medical Officers (DAMO) and District Homoeopathic Medical Officer (DHMO) will work as wing officer,s AYUSH, under the administrative control of CDM & PHO. “The entire AMO/HMO work force shall be assigned duties in healthcare institutions ‘quarantine centers or any appropriate place as decided by CDM& PHO in consultation with the Collector and DAMO/DHMO,” he added.

He further said the MoHFW is developing training material for AYUSH personnel.
