Cuttack: The Cuttack administration has shifted the vegetable market at Chhatra Bazaar to Badambadi for effective social distancing, a preventive measure to combat COVID-19.
The vegetable vendors can now be seen sitting on the stretch between Badambadi Puja Mandap and Madhupatna Square by maintaining at least 8-ft gap. Similarly, customers have been asked to maintain social distancing of 1 metre while buying vegetables from the vendors.
In the Odisha capital, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also relocated the Unit-1 market to Unit-1 Boys’ High School playground.
On Thursday, the market functioned from Adivasi Ground and sports ground at the same area. The decision to shift it to the school playground was taken on Friday following violations of social distancing norms.
