Bhubaneswar: Antibody rapid tests, to detect COVID-19 positive patents, have commenced in the state capital which has been identified as one of the 170 hotspots in the country.
According to Odisha’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das, the rapid and pool tests are being conducted besides regular sample tests.
“Rapid tests have started in Bhubaneswar, which reported 46 of the total 61 coronavirus cases in Odisha, while pool tests of samples commenced at VIMSAR, Burla,” Das said.
The minister added that to begin with, 90 samples are being tested daily at the institute. The numbers will be increased thereafter.
Odisha has received 6,000 rapid testing kits from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in the first phase, Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary N B Dhal informed.
