Sambalpur: Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) at Burla will remain closed till July 11 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“In pursuance of the COVID-19 rule, the university will remain closed till July 11 for evolved COVID contamination situation. Further, all (employees) are instructed to remain a
t the headquarters, failing which disciplinary proceedings as per OCS (CC&A) Rules 1962, as well as a penalty, will be imposed,” a VSSUT notification said.
The notification instructed the employees who are outside the headquarters at present to report to the Registrar about their arrival and stay in self-quarantine for a period of 14 days.
Notably, the decision to close the university was taken after the husband of a professor succumbed to COVID-19 last month.
