Odisha Fire Service Personnel To Launch Casework Agitation From July 10

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Fire Services department officials have decided to launch a casework agitation from July 10, demanding salary hike.

According to sources, the officials will remain present in their respective offices wearing uniforms, but will neither sign the station diary nor conduct any sentry duty till the state government fulfils their demands.
They are demanding salary and allowance on par with Odisha police officers’ scale of pay.
“The fire personnel have been struggling to effectively respond to all kinds of emergency situation, be it fire mishap, disaster or natural calamity. So, proactive steps must be taken by the government to consider our plight,” a member of the fire services association said.
