Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has approved a five-fold hike in the incentive for those marrying a person with benchmark disabilities.
According to the official notification, the incentive amount has been enhanced to Rs 2.50 lakh from 50,000.
The Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department said that the decision to raise the incentive was taken after some operational problems were brought to its notice during the implementation of the scheme
It is aimed at bringing the PWDs to the mainstream of society and helping them lead a dignified life.
