Bhubaneswar: Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has asked BJP workers to extend all possible help to flood-affected people in Odisha.
Dharmendra, who hails from Odisha, said that the water level of the all the rivers in Odisha has increased and flood-like situation is looming in several areas in the state due to incessant rainfall in last few days.
This apart, the meteorological department has forecast formation of another low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, the Union Minister tweeted.
Dharmendra also urged the residents of flood-affected areas to remain alert and move to the nearest flood shelter or any other safe place. He also advised people to follow the flood warnings issued by the administration. “At such a time, it is necessary to be more careful and watchful for rains and floods,” he said
The senior BJP leader appealed to party workers to extend all possible help to those affected by the flood. The youths should also come forward to help the affected people and engage in rescue work, he said.
Odisha is facing a flood situation in the Mahanadi river basin following heavy rainfall in the upper as well as lower catchment areas due to the week-long low pressure and depression.
