Puri: The district administration in Odisha’s Puri on Wednesday ordered all government and private schools to remain closed for two days in view of the flood situation.
Schools in the district will remain shut on August 17 and 18.
Earlier, all schools in Jagatsinghpur district were shut for two days on August 16 and 17 after several schools in the district were inundated by floodwaters. A 70-feet breach has been reported on the Mahanadi embankment at Jaysankhapur in Kujang area of Jagatsinghpur, leading to widespread flooding.
After Jagatsinghpur, the Nayagarh district administration on Tuesday announced closure of 32 schools in three blocks for two days due to the flood situation.
