Bhubaneswar: With the reservoir’s water level steadily falling, Hirakud Dam authorities shut six more sluice gates on Saturday, leaving only 10 gates open to release excess floodwaters. Four gates were shut on Saturday morning.
The water level in the dam was 620.47 ft at 12 noon on Saturday. The inflow of water at the reservoir was 1,90,298 cusecs while the outflow was 2,91,433 cusecs at 12 noon on Saturday.
The water flow at Mundali in Cuttack was 8,35,672 lakh cusecs, at Barmul 7,86,500 lakh cusecs and at Khairamal 5,90,000 lakh cusecs in the Mahanadi river system.
