Baripada: While the Forest Department has claimed that the fires in Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district have been brought under control, satellite images show different ground reality.
According to a report based on the images, forest fires are still raging in 14 areas under six ranges.

The report informed that the affected spots include three places in Gudagudia range, one place in Barehipani range, for places in Kendumundi range, three places in Naana range, two places in Thakurmunda range and one place in Talabandha range.
The PCCF (Wildlife) Sashi Paul informed that five fire brigade units from Rairangpur, Baripada, Balasore and Bhadrak are engaged in the dousing the blazes.
