Rayagada: Deputy Forest Range Officer was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his official residence at Kalyansighpur in Rayagada district here on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Brajamohan Bhoi.
Police said as Bhoi did not report at office on Wednesday his colleagues went to his quarters. At his residence, when Bhoi did not respond to their door bell or phone call, they suspected something foul and looked inside through the window to find him naked and lying dead on bed.
They informed the local Ranger, police and tehsildar who reached the spot and broke open the door to enter the house. Rayagada police have registered a case and sent the body for autopsy.
The reason behind the death of Bhoi was yet to be known.
Bhoi was a native of Thuamul Rampur in Kalahandi and was on leave and had returned from home on Tuesday. Bhoi had joined as deputy ranger at Kalyansinghpur in October 2021.
