Dhenkanal: Mamata Sahu, a former sarpanch, has been arrested for her alleged involvement in a fake currency note racket at Hindol in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
According to sources, the former sarpanch of Bandhahuda panchayat of Cuttack district had purchased grocery items worth Rs 11,000 in Hindol market. The shop owner found the money to be fake and alerted the police.
Hindol police immediately reached the spot and took the woman into their custody. She was later arrested and fake notes were seized from her possesion.
