Puri: A tractor driver died in a freak mishap on the outskirts of Puri town on Thursday morning.
According to reports, Akshaya Jena of Krupasagar Patana village under Sadar Police limits had gone to a garage near Atharanala with his tractor to check the air pressure of the rear tyres.
While filling the air pressure, the left rear tyre suddenly burst and blew off a part of Akshaya’s skull, killing him on the spot.
Following information, Sadar Police rushed to the spot and took the body to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
