Bhubaneswar: The National Expert Group on COVID Vaccination (NEGVAC) is against door-to-door vaccination of elderly and differently-abled citizens. However, it has suggested that Near to Home CVC (NHCVC) vaccination for elderly and differently-abled citizens can be planned.
Accordingly, Odisha is gearing up for smooth execution of vaccination at Near to Home CVCs.
Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra on Monday wrote to all Collectors, District Magistrates, Commissioners of Municipal Corporations, CDM and PHOs to start meticulous planning at the earliest for vaccination at Near to Home CVCs.
NHCVC follows a community-based approach where sessions can be conducted nearer to home — at community centres, resident welfare association centres, group housing society centres, panchayat buildings, school premises, etc.
The NHCVC will be linked to an existing CVC for planning and execution.
