Odisha Gears Up For PM Modi’s Sept 27 Visit For Seva Parva; IIT Capacity Expansions & Rail Projects On Agenda

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Odisha on September 27, and participate in the national-level ‘Seva Parva’ programme to be held at Rengeilunda in Berhampur.

Ahead of visit during which several key development initiatives are set to be launched, a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was held at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister issued detailed directives to ensure seamless execution of the high-profile event. Emphasising the need for meticulous coordination across departments, Majhi instructed officials to prioritise security arrangements, public participation, and infrastructural readiness.

“We must make this ‘Seva Parva’ programme in Odisha truly memorable,” he said, underlining the importance of coordinated synchronised efforts in areas like health, police, water supply, electricity, and local administration.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at Berhamapur at 11 am on the day of the event. He is slated to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple schemes, marking a significant boost to Odisha’s development. These include:

– Capacity expansion of eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country.

– Doubling of the Koraput-Baiguda and Manbazar-Koraput-Gorapur railway lines.

– Inauguration of the Sambalpur-Sarla flyover.

– Nationwide rollout of indigenous 4G network services by BSNL.

– Declaration of MKCG Medical College in Berhamapur and VIMSAR in Burla as world-class super-specialty institutions.

– Launch of a pan-India skill development program.

– Assistance to 50,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY).

– Several other developmental projects for public welfare.

The meeting highlighted comprehensive planning for the PM’s itinerary, including arrival and departure protocols, deployment of security forces, venue preparations, and inter-departmental synergy. Discussions also covered the PM’s travel route and measures to engage the public effectively.
The meeting was attended by Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallick, Minister for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahoo, DGP Y.B. Khurania, Additional Chief Secretary (Information and Public Relations) Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM Shashwat Mishra, and Principal Secretary (Revenue) Sanjay Kumar Singh.
