Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is making elaborate preparations for the visit of Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan to the state on January 23 to ensure his official programmes are held smoothly.
During his visit, the Vice-President is scheduled to attend the programmes marking the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, observed across the country as Parakram Diwas.
A high-level preparatory meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg at Lok Sabha Bhawan on Tuesday. Senior officials from v
arious departments attended the meeting, during which detailed discussions were held on security arrangements, logistics, protocol and coordination related to the Vice-president’s visit.
As per his itinerary, the Vice President is scheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport, (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar at 8.50 am aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft from New Delhi. From there, he will travel by road to Cuttack, reaching the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birthplace Museum in Odia Bazaar by 9,35 am. He will tour the museum and participate in commemorative events celebrating Netaji’s legacy.
During the visit, the Vice President will also inaugurate the newly constructed District Cultural Building located near the museum complex.
After the events in Cuttack, he will return to Bhubaneswar for lunch at Lok Bhawan (Raj Bhavan). At around 2 pm, he will depart from Bhubaneswar airport for Kolkata.
