Bhubaneswar: The Centre on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 3338.22 crore to the Odisha government to take up post-Fani restoration works.
The High Level Committee (HLC) chaired by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi has approved the additional central assistance, official sources said.
Of the Rs 3338.22 crore, the Centre had earlier provided Rs 340 crore as advance when Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Odisha had announced Rs 1000 crore immediate assistance to the state.
Apart from Odisha, the Centre also sanctioned Rs 1029 crore to Karnataka government towards drought assistance and Rs 64.49 crore to the Himachal Pradesh government towards the damage caused by landslides due to heavy rain and flood.
