New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has granted Odisha a budgetary allocation of Rs 5, 252 crore for railways in the Union Budget 2018-19, as against the demand of Rs 6,500 crore. The decision was made public by the twitter handle of Ministry of Railways.
In 2017-18, Odisha had received Rs 5,102 crore for the development of railways as against demand of Rs 5,870 crore.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had earlier written to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal seeking Rs 6,500 budgetary allocation for the State.
