Bhubaneswar: In a proud moment for Odisha, Aahan has captured the India No.1 slot in the latest Girls Under-12 Rankings released by the All India Tennis Association late last month.
With a score of 672.5, she ousted top-seeded Anandita Upadhyay of Gujarat, who ended with 668.5 points.
In January, she had become the first Odia girl to win a singles title in a national series tournament. Aahan, who will turn 12 on April 24, had then won both the U12 singles and doubles title at the AITA National Series Tennis Tournament in Karnal, Haryana and moved up to India No. 2 in the U12 rankings.
In February, she defeated Anandita 6-4,6-1 in the U-12 girls’ singles final at the 16th Ramesh Desai Memorial Under-12 Junior Tennis Nationals in Mumbai.
