Bhubaneswar: Well-known Odia film producer Akshay Parija has landed in a casting couch controversy with a girl accusing him of sexual exploitation for more than a year.
According to a complaint filed by the girl at Laxmisagar police station in Bhubaneswar, the film producer of Ollywood had been sexually exploiting her for one and a half years with a promise to cast her in his movie.
The girl also claimed to have submitted some of her intimate photographs with Akshay to the police to substantiate her allegation. But the police did not comment on the matter.
On the other hand, Akshay has strongly refuted the allegation. Speaking to the media, he said it was a conspiracy on the part of the girl to defame him. Though he admitted that he knew the girl, he claimed that he did not have any such relationship with her.
“The girl is associated with a gang which is blackmailing me. The gang of 3-4 persons is involved in such activities for extortion of money. You will know the real story soon,” a local TV channel quoted him as saying.
Stating that the police had questioned him in this regard, the film producer said he is cooperating with them to reveal the truth. “I also have the photographs of my meeting with the girl and will produce those before the police during investigation,” he added.
