Bhubaneswar: Rishita Samantaray, a talent in horse riding from Odisha, had done the state proud by winning a bronze medal in Open Hacks event of Delhi Horse Show at Army Polo and Rising Centre in New Delhi.
Notably, Delhi Horse Show was a national event organised by Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) on March 22, 2023, sources said.
12-year old Rishita, a student of KIIT International School, Bhubaneswar and daughter of Colonel Asish Samantaray and Rishini Singh Deo was among over 100 horse riders who took part in the event.
Rishita was inspired by his father who was riding horses as an Army officer and received training on horse riding under his tutelage.
Starting her horse riding career around two years ago, Rishita took part in horse-riding training camps held in Nashik, Jaipur and Delhi.
With an aspiration to scale new heights in horse riding, she is hopeful of participating in Asian and Olympic Games in future.
