Berhampur: Having carved a special identity through her on-screen magic, Odisha girl Silvia Mohapatra has achieved a new milestone in the Hollywood film world as a set designer.
Silvia, who hails from Khallikote in Ganjam district, showed her skills in the new film of Marvel series Guardian of the Galaxy Vol-3 which has hit the silver screen. She a member of a team of 16 set designers.
Born in Khallikote, she has played a key role in the set designing in the latest film of Marvel series. Silvia is the daughter of Prof Alit Kumar Mohapatra and Nalini Pattnaik.
She studied in Africa and then in the USA and received a degree in biomedical engineering. However, due to her interest in designing and knowledge in engineering, Silvia decided to pursue designing full time. She been working in Hollywood ever since.
After her success in set designing in Guardian of Galaxy Part-1 and Part-2 she took up the challenge in Part-3 also for which she is proud of.
Prior to these assignments she had taken up set designing tasks in films like Avtar: the way of water which was released in 2022 and another Big George Foreman in 2023. She has expressed her satisfaction over the latest film Guardian of Galaxy Part-3 and takes pride for her contribution in the set designing.
