Bhubaneswar: Iva Ipshita Tete, a Class IV girl from Sunabeda of Koraput district in Odisha has brought laurels for the state by winning a gold medal in a national-level painting competition organised by a private company. She received a gold medal and Rs 75,000 cash prize.
She was among the 15 lakh children who participated in the competition. Candidates were initially screened on the basis of the paintings they sent for the competition. The shortlisted children later participated in the final competition organised in Goa.
“I was asked to draw a painting of my choice in five minutes and again asked to draw something in 30 seconds. I made a fruit basket,” she said.
