The female shuttlers won the national crown for the first time. They beat Tamil Nadu in the final.
Former chief minister Naveen Patnaik lauded the Odisha girls’ team historic effort.
“Congratulate #Odisha Girls Team on being crowned champions in 47th Junior National Badminton Championship held in #Bhubaneswar. May they continue to shine and bring more glory for the state. Wish them best for future. #OdishaForSports,” Naveen posted on X.
The team championship will be followed by individual events.
