Cuttack: The Orissa High Court here on Monday granted bail to Santosh Roul alias Sarathi Baba, the self-proclaimed Godman, against bail bond of Rs. 2 lakh and two bailers.
The court has directed him not to influence witnesses and cooperate in the investigation. Further, the lower court may also set additional conditions.
Three cases were lodged against the controversial godman and he was earlier granted bail in two of them.
On August 8, 2015, the Crime Branch had arrested Sarathi Baba from his Barimula ashram on charges of sexual exploitation and cheating. A woman and her daughter had accused him of exploiting them both sexually and physically, apart from defrauding them of gold ornaments and money.
He has been lodged in Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack district for over three years.
