Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday hiked the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners with retrospective effect from January 1, 2018.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved a proposal in this regard.
The DA has been increased by 2 percent taking it to a total of 7 percent for the employees and pensioners, a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office stated.
Apart from that the elderly persons who have been drawing pension at the pre-revised rate will now receive a hiked dearness relief (TI) of 2 percent. Besides, those drawing pension without a pre-revised rate will get an additional TI of 3 percent, the statement added.
According to sources, the state government had increased DA for its employees by 1 percent in November last year.
