Balangir: A day after attending several programmes in Nuapada, Odisha Governor Raghubar Das on Sunday visited different places in Balangir district.
On the second day of his tour of western Odisha, the Governor visited an Anganwadi centre at Jhalialiti village under Khaprakhol block in Balangir district.
He interacted with the children at the centre and distributed chocolates among them, sources said. The Governor emphasised on the importance of Anganwadi centre in rural areas.
While interacting with Anganwadi workers, cooks and attendants at the centre, he advised them to pay adequate attention to the quality and nutrient value of the food being served to the children.
The Governor also visited Phulkimunda Panchayat high school and addressed the students. Besides advising them to study sincerely and work hard to achieve their goal, he enquired about the problems being faced by the students. Das discussed about the life of President Droupadi Murmu with the students.
On Saturday, the Governor had visited different blocks in Nuapada district and attended a number of programmes on the first day of his visit to the region.
