Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal felicitated Pattachitra artist Bhagyashree Sahoo for her efforts to promote the age-old art form of the state.
In a tweet the Governor said she is being recognised for her extra ordinary talent and works in the field of fine art and craft with social commitment.
The governor presented her a citation and a cheque of Rs 1.50 lakh.
Vice-Chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of technology (BPUT) Chitta Ranjan Tripathy and Secretary to Governor Dr Pramod Meherda were present.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned about Bhagyashri and her art on soft stones and bottles, popularising pattachitra painting, in the ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme on AIR.
