Koraput: Governor Ganeshi Lal on Tuesday paid homage to BSF personnel, who lost their lives on dury, at the Martyrs’ Memorial in the district.
During a visit to the BSF Headquarters, here, the Governor laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and paid homage to the martyrs who made supreme sacrifice of their lives for the nation in the line of duty.
On his arrival, the Governor was welcomed by Satish Chandra Budakoti, IG BSF, Odisha Frontier along with Madan Lal, DIG BSF Koraput and officials of district administration. He was given a Guard of Honour by BSF in the Camp.
The Governor interacted with the officials and appreciated the commitment and sacrifices made by the BSF personnel in the fight against Left wing extremists (LWE) to restore normalcy in the region.
The IG BSF briefed him about the deployment of BSF and current LWE situation in the region and various programmes being organised by BSF to win the confidence of the people.
