Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government announced that state honour would be accorded to Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, who succumbed to bullet injuries sustained in a firing incident in Brajrajnagar of Jharsuguda on Sunday, during cremation.
In a press release, special secretary, Home department said National Flag would be flown half-mast on the day of death in state capital and on the day of funeral at the place where it would take place. There will be no official entertainment for 3 days from January 29 to 31 across the state.
Ministers of Parliamentary Affairs, Finance; Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development and Commerce, Transport, Water Resources will pay homage to the mortal remains of Das on behalf of the government.
Jharsuguda SP will make arrangement for according state honour during the funeral at the cremation site.
It may be noted that Das sustained bullet injuries in chest after an ASI of police fired at him from close range while the former was going to attend a public function in Brajrajnagar on Sunday.
