Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday announced exemption of payment of taxes and additional tax of stage/contract carriages and buses of all educational institutions for the month of July 2021.
In a notification issued by the Principal Secretary and cleared by the Governor, the Commerce and Transport department said that plying of inter-state buses has been stopped and normal fleet of intra-state and inter-state buses in the state has been affected due to imposition of lockdown amid the second wave of COVID-19.
Exemption of taxes had already been announced for the months of April, May and June under Section 15(1) of the Odisha Motor Vehicle Taxation (OMVT) Act, 1975. Now, it has been extended for one more month.
