Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday announced that Nandita Das-directed film ‘Zwigato’ would be exempted from entertainment tax.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a proposal to waive off entertainment tax on the movie.
The movie has been directed by Nandita Das with famous actor Kapil Sharma and Sahana Goswami on the lead roles. The storyline of the movie, released in theatres across the country on MArch 17, depicts the life of a food delivery boy and his struggle.
Zwigato is a Hindi movie and its entire shooting has been made in Bhubaneswar.
It may be mentioned here that the state government is promoting Odisha as a destination for film shooting through proactive policies. This will promote tourism potential and provide employment opportunities for our talented youth, an official statement said.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of Nandita Das for promoting Odisha as a destination for shooting commercial movies.
Naveen also joined a special screening event for the movie at Naveen Niwas this evening.
The Chief Minister praised the movie as it successfully presents the struggling life of common men in the cities.
He also appreciated the artistic portrayal in the movie. The movie will succeed in giving a positive message for social change and human values, the CM hoped.
