Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced a monthly incentive of Rs 20,000 for dentists serving under the Odisha Medical Services (Dental) Cadre.
Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department in the state.
Dental surgeons working under the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, with a postgraduate qualification from a medical college recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), will be eligible for the monthly incentive.
The incentive will come into effect from August 29, date of issue of the notification.
“The decision was aimed at encouraging postgraduate-qualified dental doctors to continue serving in the government healthcare system and strengthening specialised dental care services across the state,” said H&FW minister Mukesh Mahaling.
The incentive, announced by H&FW Department after receiving clearance from Finance Department, will further strengthen specialist dental healthcare services in the state.
“The initiative is expected to encourage more postgraduate-qualified dental professionals to serve in the public healthcare system while improving the availability of specialised dental services for patients across Odisha,” Mahaling said.
