Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday announced a cash award of Rs 6 crore for ace para shuttler Pramod Bhagat, who won a gold medal in the recently concluded Paralympics in Tokyo.
Apart from this, the government also announced a Group-A government job for him.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had earlier announced that the state government would award gold medalists of Tokyo Paralympics with Rs 6 crore.
Bhagat won the gold medal after beating Daniel Bethell of Great Britain 21-14, 21-17 in the men’s singles SL3 event on September 4.
