Bhubaneswar: To oversee the status of education, health, agriculture and irrigation, Odisha government has appointed senior officials for 10 aspirational districts.
According to a notification, the 10 officials will remain in charge of their respective districts for three months.
The 10 IAS officers appointed by the state government for the following districts are as follows:
Bishnupada Sethi: Nuapada
Nikunja Dhal: Rayagada
Arvind Agrawal: Nabarangpur
Madhusudan Padhi: Kandhamal
Satyabrata Sahu: Kalahandi
Nitin Bhanudas Jawale: Malkangiri
Surendra Kumar: Balangir
Ranjana Chopra: Dhenkanal
Santosh Sarangi: Koraput
Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma: Gajapati
It may be mentioned that the Centre had launched the ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ initiative in January 2018 to improve India’s ranking under Human Development Index, raising the living standards of its citizens and ensuring inclusive growth of all.
A total of 117 Aspirational districts have been identified by NITI Aayog based upon composite indicators from health & nutrition, education, agriculture & water resources, financial inclusion and skill development and basic infrastructure.
