Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday appointed Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, a 2017-batch IAS officer, as the new Collector & District Magistrate of Bhadrak.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, Upadhyay, who is now serving as Director, Textiles & Handloom, will take charge following the retirement of Dilip Routrai on July 31.
The state government has appointed Upadhyay as the District Magistrate of Bhadrak district in exercise of the powers conferred under section 14(1) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
Routrai, an IAS (SCS-2011) officer of the 2011 batch, is set to retire from government service on Friday (July 31).
