Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has demanded the establishment of a maritime university in the state.
State Transport and Commerce Minister Padmanabha Behera raised the demand on Friday at a meeting of the National Sagarmala Apex Committee (NSAC) chaired by Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal in New Delhi.
Behera also sought funds for the Gopalpur-Rairakhol, Buramara-Chakulia and Badampahar-Keonjhar rail link projects under the Sagarmala scheme.
The minister said that the state government has received a proposal for setting up ship building and recycling industries at Chandabali in Bhadrak district.
