Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education department has asked the government degree colleges in the state not to submit any new proposal for infrastructure development for administrative approval.
“Government Colleges are hereby advised not to submit any new infrastructure development project for administrative approval of the Higher Education Department except bare minimum repair/maintenance work of urgent nature,” the department said in a letter to the principals of the government degree colleges.
The colleges were advised to ensure that the infrastructure projects, which have been approved by the department, are completed by the executing agencies in time.
It may be noted that the Finance department had recently issued detailed guidelines to adopt expenditure rationalization measures in the wake of the economic slowdown on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.
